Moby Pink
At the beginning of lockdown, a friend and I decided to attempt a large-scale project, and this was the result. The creatures I usually crochet are a lot smaller, so I really underestimated the amount of time it would take to make this (especially since I ran out of wool halfway through), but it was ultimately so worth it! There’s nothing that relaxes me more than putting on a tv show in the background, and crocheting away.
This is the point where I realise the white wool is probably not going to be enough, but am still in deep denial about it.
Is this whale naturally pink, or just sunburnt? I like the ambiguity. Spices things up a little.
Starting to take shape here. It's actually surprisingly difficult to stuff something this big without making it look lumpy. The struggle is real.
I ran out of wool just two rows shy of the end, and had to reorder a whole new ball of yarn. We got there in the end though!
Finally finished! I've also started a crochet octopus to make sure the whale isn't lonely, but that's not quite done yet.
